Iced Tea for the Summer Sports Minded

Quench your thirst and satisfy your body as you enjoy your outdoor activities on these hot summer days.  This recipe incorporates the nutrients and electrolytes of a popular sports drink mix with the healthful antioxidants of 100% pure, high mountain-grown tea from Ceylon.  Play hard, drink healthy, enjoy!

Ø  6-8 2g bags of The Original Ceylon Tea Company’s Green Tea w/Refreshing Lemon Flavor

Ø  2 scoops Gatorade® Lemon-Lime Sports powder mix

Ø  6-qt Filtered or spring water

Ø  Covered glass container

Fill container with filtered or spring water.  Put 6-8 Green Tea w/Lemon teabags in water, cover and place in sun for 1 hour.

Add 2 scoops Gatorade lemon lime powder drink mix and stir thoroughly for a delicious and healthy summer refresher filled with sodium and potassium.  Perfect for long bike rides or your favorite activity or workout in the heat.

This recipe works well with The Original Ceylon Tea Company’s Green Tea w/Raspberry or Jasmine, too.  Or for an exotic twist, try 1001 Nights or Black Tea with Natural Raspberry flavoring with the fruit punch or red flavored mix. 

Refrigerator leftovers.

Each 8 oz glass contains:  Calories 18.2; Fat Calories 0; Saturated Fat 0; Protein 0; Carbohydrates 4.76g; Fiber 0; Sugar 4.48g.  (Carbohydrates and Sugar come from sports drink mix.)
